Stretch out and relax with your very own bedroom during your Amtrak train trip! After all, it's what's on the inside that counts.
Comfortable and economical, Coach Class offers large, reclining seats with fold-down tray tables, overhead reading lights, and overhead luggage racks. Plus, with large, panoramic windows, you can lean back and enjoy the view. If you want to get up and stretch your legs, there’s plenty of room to walk around, with restrooms conveniently located in every car.
On shorter train journeys, Amtrak’s Coach Class seats provide a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the view. On long-distance journeys, you will find extra-spacious Coach Class seating with leg rests designed to enhance your comfort for long or overnight trips. Coach class seats are available on all Amtrak trains except Acela Express trains.
Private sleeping room accommodations
For customers seeking both privacy and savings, Roomettes feature two comfortable seats by day and upper and lower berths by night. Each room includes a big picture window, fresh towels and linens, and access to a private restroom and shower.
For customers seeking plenty of comfort and room, Bedrooms provide twice the space as a Roomette and feature a sofa and armchair by day and upper and lower berths by night. Each room includes a big picture window, fresh towels and linens, and an in-room sink, restroom, and shower.
For customers seeking the ultimate sleeping car experience, Bedrooms Suites combine two adjoining Bedrooms — featuring two sofas and two armchairs by day and four berths by night. Each suite includes two big picture windows, fresh towels and linens, and two in-room sinks, restrooms, and showers.
For customers traveling with kids, Family Bedrooms span the width of the car with ample space for two adults and two children (aged 2-12). Each room features two sofas by day and two upper and two lower berths by night, plus two big picture windows, fresh towels and linens, and access to a private restroom and shower.
For customers traveling with a disability, Accessible Bedrooms are located on the entry-level of the train and offer ample space for a wheelchair. Each room features a sofa for two by day and upper and lower berths by night, plus a big picture window, fresh towels and linens an accessible in-room sink and restroom, and access to a private shower.

Available in most Amtrak® long-distance trains, the Lounge Car is a popular place to grab a quick snack, unwind or meet new people. The upper level of our Sightseer Lounge Car offers a more dramatic view of the passing scenery with wraparound windows.
