Private Sleeping Accommodations
All the information you need to know, to get a good night's sleep onboard the train.
In all rooms, daytime seating converts to beds at night. Amtrak’s private sleeping rooms include in-room features, services, and amenities to ensure a smooth and relaxing journey. As you get ready to book, keep in mind that capacity is limited. There are only approximately 15 bedrooms and about 40 roomettes per train, but with Amtrak Vacations, we can help get your private sleeping room reserved right away!
Choose from five different room types
For customers seeking both privacy and savings, Roomettes feature two comfortable seats by day and upper and lower berths by night. Each room includes a big picture window, fresh towels and linens, and access to a private restroom and shower.
For customers seeking plenty of comfort and room, Bedrooms provide twice the space as a Roomette and feature a sofa and armchair by day and upper and lower berths by night. Each room includes a big picture window, fresh towels and linens, and an in-room sink, restroom, and shower.
For customers seeking the ultimate sleeping car experience, Bedrooms Suites combine two adjoining Bedrooms — featuring two sofas and two armchairs by day and four berths by night. Each suite includes two big picture windows, fresh towels and linens, and two in-room sinks, restrooms, and showers.
For customers traveling with kids, Family Bedrooms span the width of the car with ample space for two adults and two children (aged 2-12). Each room features two sofas by day and two upper and two lower berths by night, plus two big picture windows, fresh towels and linens, and access to a private restroom and shower.
For customers traveling with a disability, Accessible Bedrooms are located on the entry-level of the train and offer ample space for a wheelchair. Each room features a sofa for two by day and upper and lower berths by night, plus a big picture window, fresh towels and linens an accessible in-room sink and restroom, and access to a private shower.
