Whittier, AK

The small city of Whittier is located in the Kenai Peninsula Borough on Prince William Sound in southeast Alaska, situated at the head of Passage Canal across from the Chugach Mountains. Originally built as a harbor community to support a highway tunnel that connects the city to Anchorage, Whittier is known for its diverse wildlife in the surrounding bay and at the impressive Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.
