Then, board Amtrak’s Crescent train en route to lively New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz music and home to the world-famous French Quarter and historic Jackson Square. DAY 1               YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
Welcome to the nation’s capital! Washington, D.C., is not only home to some of the world’s most notable monuments but also features wonderful museums and attractions to satisfy any traveler. Why not explore by using your included admission to the International Spy Museum? (Overnight in Washington, D.C.)

DAY 2               WASHINGTON, D.C.
On your second day in the city, use your included hop-on, hop-off sightseeing tour to discover more of the capital’s crowd-pleasing landmarks. In the evening, enjoy a Monuments by Moonlight Tour to see the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial and much more! (Overnight in Washington, D.C.)

DAY 3               OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK
Travel to the Amtrak station on your own and board the Crescent train for your overnight journey to New Orleans. Once onboard, get acquainted with your sleeping accommodations and the rest of the train. Then, sit back and relax en route to the birthplace of jazz music. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 4               NEW ORLEANS
Today, you’ll arrive in beautiful New Orleans! After checking into your hotel and getting settled, step out and start embracing the city’s charms on your own. There is so much to see and do! Eat some delicious beignets at Café Du Monde, take a stroll along Bourbon or Royal Street, or ride one of the iconic streetcars. (Overnight in New Orleans)

DAY 5               NEW ORLEANS
Enjoy an included brunch at a popular restaurant full of history located in the heart of the French Quarter. Then, embark on your city tour!  See the neighborhoods of Treme and Faubourg Marigny, Jackson Square, “Cities of the Dead” cemetery, Bayou St. John waterway, the Garden District and so much more! DAY 6               NEW ORLEANS
After exploring the city, the next best thing to do is check out New Orleans’ swamps and bayous. Native guides will reveal all the mysterious of this region and you may even see some wildlife such as alligators, snakes, egrets and racoons. Don’t forget your camera! Following your tour, continue exploring the city on your own and grab some traditional Creole cuisine for dinner before turning in for your last night. (Overnight in New Orleans)
