Trip Overview

There’s a reason Amtrak’s Coast Starlight is often described as one of America’s most beautiful train rides. Experience it for yourself on a six-day roundtrip rail journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles and on to the Grand Canyon. Once you arrive in Los Angeles, you’ll get to do some sightseeing of Hollywood’s must-see attractions. Stroll the Walk of Fame, visit the Oscar-famous Kodak Theatre, learn about the neighborhood’s hidden history, and scope out celebrities’ homes. You’ll then take Amtrak’s Southwest Chief to Williams, Arizona, before boarding the legendary Grand Canyon Railway toward the majestic South Rim of the Grand Canyon. After exploring the natural wonder, you’ll return to Los Angeles and take in the West Coast’s mountains, valleys, and Pacific Ocean en route back to San Francisco.
