Trip Overview

Enjoy some of Canada’s most pristine scenery and unique experiences on this west to east cross-Canada rail journey from Vancouver to Toronto, with a stop in the spectacular winter wonderland of Jasper in the Canadian Rockies. Your vacation begins with an overnight stay in Seattle, with plenty of time to discover the city’s famous Space Needle and other attractions. From there, board the train to Vancouver and enjoy another night enjoying the sights of this vibrant city, including Stanley Park and the Vancouver Lookout. Then, board VIA Rail and travel east through the snow-capped Canadian Rockies, marveling at the spectacular views along the way. In Jasper, enjoy the wildlife and tour Maligne Canyon with an interactive ice walk. Then, continue your cross-Canada journey on VIA Rail, winding through the snow-capped mountains to Toronto, where you’ll enjoy more sightseeing fun.

DAY 1 YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS IN SEATTLE
Welcome to the great city of Seattle! Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for an overnight stay and begin discovering the ‘Emerald City.' Check out the iconic Space Needle for 360-degree views of the entire city, picturesque Elliott Bay and the snow-capped Mt. Rainier in the distance. Explore other not to be missed attractions, including the Seattle Aquarium, Pike Place Market, the Great Wheel and much more. (Overnight in Seattle)

DAY 2 SEATTLE TO VANCOUVER
Board Amtrak's Cascades train this morning for the scenic and relaxing four-hour journey to Vancouver. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for an overnight stay. Be sure to visit Canada Place today, where you'll have admission to Fly Over Canada, an ultimate flying sensation experience of Canada's beautiful vistas. Also take a stroll to the Vancouver Lookout, where you have free admission for a birds-eye view of the city and surrounding landscapes.In the evening, make your way to lively, historic Gastown, with its unique mix of indie art galleries, shops, and excellent bars and restaurants. DAY 3 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD VIA RAIL
Make your way to the train station for your departure to Jasper and the majestic Rocky Mountains. Enjoy views of Vancouver's eastern suburbs and British Columbia's agricultural heartland at the start of the journey. Later, take in the stunning views of the Fraser Canyon as the train winds its way through the Cascade and Coast Mountains perched alongside the mighty Fraser River and past the raging rapids of Hell's Gate. DAY 4 JASPER
Take in views of the towering Rocky Mountains right outside your window. Take in Mt. Robson, the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies, and Moose Lake, one of its deepest, before arriving into Jasper. The day is yours to start getting to know the alpine town. (Overnight in Jasper)

DAY 5 JASPER
Today, a Winter Wildlife Discovery Tour of Jasper National park is included. Your knowledgeable guide will seek out all of the park's most iconic wildlife - you may see elk, deer, sheep, coyotes, and moose and more! You'll also learn about the history, geology, and ecology of the area. (Overnight in Jasper).

DAY 6 JASPER
Enjoy a truly unique experience today with your Maligne Canyon Icewalk Tour. You'll be taken you to the bottom of Maligne Canyon, the deepest accessible canyon in Jasper National Park, where you will observe frozen waterfalls, ice caves, and incredible ice formations. (Overnight in Jasper)

DAY 7 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD VIA RAIL
Board the train for your journey to Toronto. Once onboard, enjoy delicious meals, comfortable accommodations and epic panoramic views out your window as you glide through the Canadian countryside. (Overnight onboard VIA Rail)

DAY 8 - 9 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD VIA RAIL
Continue your journey towards Toronto on VIA Rail, traveling out of the Canadian Rockies and through the beautiful prairies of Ontario. (Overnight onboard VIA Rail)

DAY 10 TORONTO
