DAY 1 NEW YORK CITY TO CHICAGO
Board Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited for your overnight journey to Chicago and the start of your Grand National Parks adventure. Enjoy comfortable accommodations and great views out your window as the train makes its way west. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 2 CHICAGO TO SALT LAKE CITY
You'll have some time to relax in Chicago before boarding the California Zephyr for an incredibly scenic ride as the train ventures further west to Salt Lake City. There are so many great sights to behold on this ride! Keep your eyes peeled for the Midwestern plains, Moffat Tunnel and Glenwood Canyons along the way. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 3 SALT LAKE CITY
Enjoy spending the day today discovering friendly Salt Lake City! Known for its wide variety of outdoor activities, including world class skiing, hiking and biking, the city offers multiple recreational options for active couples and families. Or explore some of the city's major attractions, including Temple Square, Brigham Young's Governor's Mansion and the State Capital. In the evening, take in the lively entertainment district in the heart of downtown. (Overnight in Salt Lake City)

DAY 4 YELLOWSTONE
This morning, enjoy your included shuttle to Yellowstone. Your cross-country journey takes in some amazing mountain scenery along the way so keep your camera handy! Upon your arrival in West Yellowstone, check in at your hotel and enjoy the evening discovering local shops and dining. (Overnight in West Yellowstone)

DAY 5 YELLOWSTONE
Today you will experience the majesty of Yellowstone, the world's first national park. Formed from the remains of an extinct super-volcano that exploded around 600,000 years ago, the park is a full of alpine lakes, flowing rivers, jagged peaks, expansive forests, hot springs and geysers. Your included tour allows you to experience all of this while stopping at several thrilling landmarks such as the world-famous geyser, Old Faithful. Keep your eyes open for the abundant wildlife that inhabit Yellowstone such as elk, bears, pronghorn, and even wolves! Yellowstone is an absolute wonder! (Overnight in West Yellowstone)

DAY 6 SALT LAKE CITY TO SAN FRANCISCO
Today, transfer back to Salt Lake City and enjoy the day enjoying more city sights. In the evening, enjoy a special dinner at The Roof restaurant, enjoying delicious food and even better views overlooking downtown. Later, board the train for your overnight journey to San Francisco. DAY 7 SAN FRANCISCO
Enjoy epic views on Amtrak's California Zephyr as you make your way to San Francisco today. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. (Overnight in San Francisco)

DAY 8 SAN FRANCISCO
Today's day trip to Yosemite National Park is one of the highlights of your journey. After being picked up from your hotel, you will ride cross-country through California's agricultural heartland. This is a relaxing trip through some very charming countryside. Your visit to Yosemite itself is a chance to experience all the park is famous for - rocky peaks such as El Capitan, abundant pine forest, a variety of wildlife, and so much more! This evening you return to San Francisco for the night. (Overnight in San Francisco)

DAY 9 SAN FRANCISCO TO LOS ANGELES
Head to Union Station in San Francisco and board the Coast Starlight train heading south to Los Angeles. On this scenic ride down the coast, savor the beautiful rolling hills and amazing ocean views. Once you arrive in Los Angeles, check into your hotel for an overnight stay. (Overnight in Los Angeles)

DAY 10 LOS ANGELES TO WILLIAMS
Enjoy a full day in LA today with a fun tour of the star's homes. In the evening, board the Southwest Chief for an overnight journey to Williams, AZ on your way to the iconic Grand Canyon. Known as the ‘Gateway to the Grand Canyon,' Williams is an outdoor desert paradise filled recreational activities and fun for the whole family! Enjoy discovering all this charming town has to offer. DAY 11 GRAND CANYON
Enjoy breakfast at the Grand Depot Café in Williams this morning as you prepare to board the Grand Canyon Railway. This classic train ride runs through the largest expanse of ponderosa pine forest with views of some charming southwest scenery. The train ends at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Formed over millions of years, the waters of the Colorado River have carved the Canyon into one of the wonders of the natural world. Your included tour picks you up from the South Rim and takes you all around for sightseeing while your guide provides a wealth of fascinating information about the area. The views are absolutely spectacular! You will stay this evening at the South Rim. (Overnight at the Grand Canyon) B

DAY 12 WILLLIAMS
This morning is yours to continue exploring the Grand Canyon. Relax and just enjoy the special atmosphere. Take some time to visit some local attractions such as the historic Hopi House. In the afternoon, you will return to Williams on the Grand Canyon Railway. Dinner is included this evening as you prepare for the journey home. (Overnight in Williams) D

DAY 13 WILLIAMS TO CHICAGO
Board the Southwest Chief this morning for your return journey to Chicago, then on to New York City. Enjoy entirely new views out the window! (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 14 CHICAGO TO NEW YORK CITY
Arrive in Chicago this afternoon and enjoy a few hours in the city before boarding the Lake Shore Limited for your return trip to New York City. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

El Tovar

El Tovar Hotel, the premier lodging facility at the Grand Canyon, opened its doors in 1905 and was most recently renovated in 2005. In the past, the Hotel has hosted such luminaries as Theodore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein, Western author Zane Grey, and many others. Today, El Tovar retains its elegant charm. Located on the Canyon rim, it features a fine dining room (open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner), lounge and curio shop with newsstand.

Grand Canyon Railway

Grand Canyon Railway Hotel is nestled amongst the Ponderosa pine forest in Williams, Arizona - "Gateway to the Grand Canyon." Owned and operated by Grand Canyon Railway, this hotel is one of the finest in the Grand Canyon -Flagstaff - Williams area.

Maswik Lodge

Maswik Lodge is a modern facility spread over several acres of ponderosa pine forest, located just 1/4 mile from the Canyon's edge. Maswik Lodge features a cafeteria that is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Here you will also find a sports bar with a wide screen TV, a curio shop stocked with handicrafts and gifts, and a transportation/activities desk.

Thunderbird Lodge

Conveniently located between El Tovar and Bright Angel Lodge, Thunderbird is a contemporary lodge located at the South Rim.

Yavapai Lodge

Yavapai Lodge is Grand Canyon National Park Lodges' largest facility and is surrounded by pinyon and juniper woodlands, about 1/2 mile from the rim. With modern rooms and many services within a few steps, this is a convenient choice for families. Yavapai East rooms feature in-room air conditioning and Yavapai West rooms have vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans. The Lodge is located next to the Market Plaza, which includes a general store, bank, and U.S. Post Office.
