DAY 1 YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS IN LOS ANGELES
Head to Union Station in Los Angeles and board the Coast Starlight train heading north to San Francisco. You are on your way to the national parks, and this scenic ride up the California coast is just the beginning! Savor the beautiful rolling hills and amazing ocean views as you head north. Once you arrive in San Francisco, check into your hotel to relax or head out to enjoy dinner or some sights. The evening is yours! (Overnight in San Francisco)

DAY 2 SAN FRANCISCO TO YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
Today's day trip to Yosemite National Park is one of the highlights of your journey. After being picked up from your hotel, you will ride cross country through California's agricultural heartland. This is a relaxing trip through some very charming countryside. Your visit to Yosemite itself is a chance to experience all the park is famous for - rocky peaks such as El Capitan, abundant pine forest, a variety of wildlife, and so much more! This evening you return to San Francisco for the night. (Overnight in San Francisco)

DAY 3 SALT LAKE CITY
Relax and head west to Salt Lake City today on the California Zephyr, enjoying the scenic desert views along the way. Upon your arrival in Salt Lake City, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. (Overnight in Salt Lake City)

DAY 4 SALT LAKE CITY
Enjoy spending the day discovering friendly Salt Lake City! Known for its wide variety of outdoor activities, including world class skiing, hiking and biking, the city offers multiple recreational options for active couples and families. Or explore some of the city's major attractions, including Temple Square, Brigham Young's Governor's Mansion and the State Capital. In the evening, take in the lively entertainment district in the heart of downtown. (Overnight in Salt Lake City)

DAY 5 YELLOWSTONE
This morning, enjoy your included shuttle to Yellowstone. Your cross-country journey takes in some amazing mountain scenery along the way so keep your camera handy! Upon your arrival in West Yellowstone, check in at your hotel and enjoy the evening discovering local shops and dining. (Overnight in West Yellowstone)

DAY 6 YELLOWSTONE
Today you will experience the majesty of Yellowstone, the world's first national park. Formed from the remains of an extinct super-volcano that exploded around 600,000 years ago, the park is a full of alpine lakes, flowing rivers, jagged peaks, expansive forests, hot springs and geysers. Your included tour allows you to experience all of this while stopping at a number of thrilling landmarks such as the world-famous geyser, Old Faithful. Keep your eyes open for the abundant wildlife that inhabit Yellowstone such as elk, bears, pronghorn, and even wolves! Yellowstone is an absolute wonder! (Overnight in West Yellowstone)

DAY 7 SALT LAKE CITY
Today, take a leisurely drive back to Salt Lake City on the included shuttle. Spend the evening at your own pace enjoying the city. Venture out to Olympic Park or explore the vibrant and growing restaurant scene downtown. (Overnight in Salt Lake City)

DAY 8 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK
Board the California Zephyr this morning for another incredibly scenic ride. Take in the gorgeous landscape of the American countryside as the train ventures east to Chicago. There are so many great sights to behold on this ride! Keep your eyes peeled for the Moffat Tunnel, Glenwood Canyons, and the Midwest plains. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 9 CHICAGO
Welcome to the Windy City! Enjoy all the sights and attractions at your leisure during your time in Chicago, including Skydeck Chicago, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, and a walk down Magnificent Mile. In the evening, enjoy one of the city's great restaurants or take in some live music at one of the many great jazz and blues clubs around town. (Overnight in Chicago)

DAY 10 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK
Enjoy the morning spending some more time enjoying Chicago before heading to historic Union Station and boarding the Southwest Chief for a glorious ride to the Grand Canyon. Enjoy iconic plains, prairie and desert views as the train winds its way southwest. Spend a relaxing night onboard the train and wake up to the painted desertscape of Arizona. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 11 WILLIAMS
You arrive in Williams, Arizona today on your way to the Grand Canyon itself. Known as the ‘Gateway to the Grand Canyon,' Williams is an outdoor desert paradise filled recreational activities and fun for the whole family! Enjoy discovering all this charming town has to offer. (Overnight in Williams)

DAY 12 GRAND CANYON
Enjoy breakfast at the Grand Depot Café this morning as you prepare to board the Grand Canyon Railway. This classic train ride runs through the largest expanse of ponderosa pine forest with views of some charming southwest scenery. The train ends at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Formed over millions of years, the waters of the Colorado River have carved the Canyon into one of the wonders of the natural world. Your included tour picks you up from the South Rim and takes you all around for sightseeing while your guide provides a wealth of fascinating information about the area. The views are absolutely spectacular! You will stay this evening at the South Rim. (Overnight at the Grand Canyon) B

DAY 13 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK
This morning is yours to continue exploring the Grand Canyon. Relax and just enjoy the special atmosphere. Take some time to visit some local attractions such as the historic Hopi House. In the afternoon, you will return to Williams on the Grand Canyon Railway. Dinner is included this evening as you prepare for the journey home. (Overnight onboard Amtrak) D

El Tovar Hotel, the premier lodging facility at the Grand Canyon, opened its doors in 1905 and was most recently renovated in 2005. In the past, the Hotel has hosted such luminaries as Theodore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein, Western author Zane Grey, and many others. Today, El Tovar retains its elegant charm. Located on the Canyon rim, it features a fine dining room (open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner), lounge and curio shop with newsstand.

Grand Canyon Railway

Grand Canyon Railway Hotel is nestled amongst the Ponderosa pine forest in Williams, Arizona - "Gateway to the Grand Canyon." Owned and operated by Grand Canyon Railway, this hotel is one of the finest in the Grand Canyon -Flagstaff - Williams area.

Maswik Lodge

Maswik Lodge is a modern facility spread over several acres of ponderosa pine forest, located just 1/4 mile from the Canyon's edge. Maswik Lodge features a cafeteria that is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Here you will also find a sports bar with a wide screen TV, a curio shop stocked with handicrafts and gifts, and a transportation/activities desk.

Thunderbird Lodge

Conveniently located between El Tovar and Bright Angel Lodge, Thunderbird is a contemporary lodge located at the South Rim.

Yavapai Lodge

Yavapai Lodge is Grand Canyon National Park Lodges' largest facility and is surrounded by pinyon and juniper woodlands, about 1/2 mile from the rim. With modern rooms and many services within a few steps, this is a convenient choice for families. Yavapai East rooms feature in-room air conditioning and Yavapai West rooms have vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans. The Lodge is located next to the Market Plaza, which includes a general store, bank, and U.S. Post Office.
