This scenic rail journey through America’s heartland takes you through four amazing cities. See all of Chicago’s top attractions on a hop-on, hop-off sightseeing tour. Ride to the top of the Gateway Arch to get a bird’s-eye view of St. Louis. Explore all Dallas has to offer and travel back in time to the 60’s at the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. Discover the famous Alamo on a grand tour of San Antonio, which also includes a scenic cruise along the stunning River Walk. DAY 1 YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS IN CHICAGO
Welcome to Chicago! Your American Heartland rail journey begins with a multi-day hop-on, hop-off sightseeing tour of the “Windy City.” Visit the Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, and many more popular Chicago destinations. Don't forget to stop and take a picture at the famous sign marking the start of Route 66! (Overnight in Chicago)

DAY 2 CHICAGO
Enjoy the second day of your hop-on, hop-off city tour of Chicago and explore any places you didn't get a chance to see yesterday. Your pass allows you the opportunity to hop on and off at any of the stops, so you can explore anything you want to see at your own pace. This fantastic day of sightseeing will be followed by an included dinner a popular Chicago restaurant. (Overnight in Chicago) D

DAY 3 CHICAGO > ST. LOUIS
Travel to Chicago's Union Station and board Amtrak® to St. Louis. Enjoy your scenic ride through the picturesque Midwest on board the Texas Eagle as you head south to the “Show-Me-State.” After you arrive, use your free time to get to know St. Louis. If you have a hankering for BBQ, you are in luck! St. Louis is known for its own delicious style of BBQ. Get yourself something to eat and check out the sights! (Overnight in St. Louis)

DAY 4 ST. LOUIS
Begin your day with a visit to the “Gateway to the West” at the St. Louis Gateway Arch. This astounding structure, which stands 630 feet tall, remains the tallest man-made national monument in the United States. Its unique shape and stainless steel facade are certainly a sight to see. (Overnight in St. Louis)

DAY 5 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK
Spend some free time exploring St. Louis today before you travel to the Amtrak station and board the Texas Eagle to Dallas. Sit back and relax as your train winds through the heartland across the mighty Mississippi River, through the Ozarks to Little Rock, and finally, the piney woods of East Texas. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 6 DALLAS
Welcome to Dallas! After checking into your hotel, spend your free day enjoying the sights and attractions in this festive city. Experience downtown Dallas from a one-of-a-kind point-of-view at the Reunion Tower Geo-Deck. Visit the George W. Bush Presidential Library and learn all about the 43rd President of the United States. If you are a big fan of nature, head to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden for a little piece of tranquility. (Overnight in Dallas)

DAY 7 DALLAS
Get ready for a journey back in time with a visit to the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, which chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Explore history through one of the world's most significant repositories of original photographs, films and video footage, documents, and artifacts related to the assassination of President Kennedy—a continually growing, multifaceted collection of approximately 45,000 items. (Overnight in Dallas)

DAY 8 DALLAS > SAN ANTONIO
Today, travel to the Amtrak station and board the Texas Eagle heading south to San Antonio. Kick back and relax while the train winds through colorful, cosmopolitan Dallas, through festive Austin (home of the University of Texas), and finally to gorgeous San Antonio, where the legend of the Alamo attracts people from all over the world. Upon your arrival this evening, you will check into your hotel and rest up for an exciting day ahead. (Overnight in San Antonio)

DAY 9 SAN ANTONIO
Today you'll embark on a hop-on, hop-off tour of the city that includes admission to the Alamo, San Antonio's first Spanish mission founded in 1718 and home of the tragic 13-day siege in the Texas Revolution. Experience more of the city's colorful past with a visit to the Buckhorn Saloon as well as the Texas Ranger Museum. (Overnight in San Antonio)
