The Newseum - a 250,000-square-foot museum of news - offers visitors an experience that blends five centuries of news history with up-to-the-second technology and hands-on exhibits. Historic newspaper front pages drawn from the Newseum's vast collection and powerful videos and documentaries transport visitors back to some of the biggest events in modern history. Prize-winning photojournalism illustrates the power of images to elicit a range of emotions. Unique artifacts - including the largest display of sections of the Berlin Wall outside of Germany - provide insights into these stories, as well as how news is made and shared.


For those seeking a more hands-on visit, there a dozens of interactive stations and games throughout the building as well as the Newseum's popular "Be a TV Reporter" experience. The Newseum's 4-D feature "I-Witness" combines a 3-D film with "environmental effects" built into the theater and seats to take visitors on a sensational time travel experience to some of the big stories of the past.


The Newseum is located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Sixth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., on America's Main Street between the White House and the U.S. Capitol and adjacent to the Smithsonian museums on the National Mall.

The Newseum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
