A scenic, national park trip awaits on this 13-day, roundtrip journey to the Grand Canyon! After departing from our Nation’s Capital, you will arrive in Chicago where you will enjoy the city’s iconic architecture. Then board the Southwest Chief® your trip through America’s heartland and into Santa Fe. Explore the culture and history set against the scenic mountain views. Then you will head into the Grand Canyon itself to experience on of the Seven Wonders of the World. A grand tour of the Canyon will take you to some of the Canyon’s best viewing spots. After this head on to Flagstaff for a comprehensive tour of Sedona! This is a wonderful way to see the national parks!

DAY 2 CHICAGO
Welcome to Chicago! Today, your journey begins with a multi-day hop-on, hop-off sightseeing pass, which gives you transportation to the most famous Chicago attractions. This tour covers 13 miles and includes stops at the Art Institute, the Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, and many more popular Chicago destinations. Feel free to hop on and off at any stop to further explore the area at your leisure. (Overnight in Chicago)

DAY 3 CHICAGO
Enjoy the second day of your hop-on, hop-off city tour of Chicago and explore any sites you didn't get a chance to see yesterday. This enjoyable day of sightseeing will be followed by an included dinner a popular Chicago restaurant. (Overnight in Chicago) D

DAY 4 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK
Transfer on your own to the Amtrak station and board the Southwest Chief® to Santa Fe. This gorgeous train ride takes you through curving canyon passages only a few feet wider than the train itself! You'll see spectacular landscapes and pristine vistas not visible from any highway. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 5 SANTA FE
After your arrival in Santa Fe in the afternoon, take some time to get know this cultural gem of a city. Santa Fe is known as a treasure for art, culture, and cuisine. It also offers spectacular views of serene mountains. Enjoy a free day exploring all that Santa Fe has to offer. (Overnight in Santa Fe)

DAY 6 SANTA FE
Today you will enjoy a guided walking tour of Santa Fe. This colorful and historic town is nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Founded over 400 years ago by the Spaniards and inhabited by the Pueblo Indians for over 1000 years before that, this unique destination is so culturally diverse and interesting that travelers from all over the world come to visit. (Overnight in Santa Fe)

DAY 7 SANTA FE > WILLIAMS

You will be transferred from downtown Santa Fe back to the Amtrak station where you will board the train to Williams Junction. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to Williams, AZ, where you will enjoy a good night's sleep before your adventure to the Grand Canyon tomorrow. (Overnight in Williams)

DAY 8 WILLIAMS > GRAND CANYON
This morning, enjoy a hearty breakfast at the Grand Depot Café, the perfect starting place for your Grand Canyon adventure! Then, board the Grand Canyon Railway, which will take you right into the heart of Grand Canyon National Park. Enjoy a motorcoach tour of the Canyon's majestic South Rim and your included lunch. Take in some of the most spectacular vistas in North America, which were formed over 17 million years ago. The Canyon's landscape is truly breathtaking. (Overnight in the Grand Canyon) B, L

DAY 9 GRAND CANYON > FLAGSTAFF

Today you'll have some time in the morning to take in the fresh mountain air as you spend free time enjoying the sights of the Canyon. You'll depart later this morning and head to Flagstaff for a good night's sleep. (Overnight in Flagstaff)

DAY 10 FLAGSTAFF > SEDONA > FLAGSTAFF

Get ready to explore the spectacular Red Rocks of Sedona with your included Canyons & Cowboys jeep tour. Take the rest of the day to explore the astounding natural wonders of Flagstaff on your own. This gorgeous city offers many invigorating outdoor recreation activities and fascinating cultural attractions. If you are looking for something to do later in the evening, the Lowell observatory perfect for stargazers. (Overnight in Flagstaff)

DAY 11-12 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK

This morning board the Southwest Chief for your trip back to Chicago. As the train makes its way back north, reflect upon the natural, scenic beauty that you experienced on your Grand Canyon Discovery journey. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

Grand Canyon Railway

Grand Canyon Railway Hotel is nestled amongst the Ponderosa pine forest in Williams, Arizona - "Gateway to the Grand Canyon." Owned and operated by Grand Canyon Railway, this hotel is one of the finest in the Grand Canyon -Flagstaff - Williams area.

Kachina Lodge

Located directly on the rim of the Grand Canyon, the Kachina Lodge is a great hotel for all guests visiting the South Rim.

Maswik Lodge
