If you’re hankering for a Rocky Mountain high, the harmony of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, a peek at Old Faithful and dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf, then this rail journey is for you. See both historic and modern Denver on a city tour before heading to Salt Lake City to explore. From there, proceed north through scenic Wyoming to West Yellowstone. Enjoy a Lower Loop Tour of Yellowstone National Park, and return to Salt Lake City. Continue west to Emeryville, California, and ultimately on to San Francisco for a tour and that dinner on the Pacific.

**SUGGESTED ITINERARY

DAY 1 Arrive in Denver
Welcome to Denver, known as the Mile High City. Enjoy the views of the fabulous Rocky Mountains.(Overnight in Denver) 

DAY 2 Explore Denver
During the city tour, you will experience two sides of Denver; a historic western town and thriving modern city – all in the same trip. A city tour is included in your package. (Overnight in Denver) 

DAY 3 Denver to Salt Lake City
Transfer to Denver’s Union Station and board your Amtrak train in coach accommodations. Evening arrival into Salt Lake City. (Overnight in Salt Lake City) 

DAY 4 Explore Salt Lake City
Enjoy exploring Salt Lake City with a visit to Temple Square. At Temple Square you will find the newly renovated Tabernacle, the Family Search Center and The Beehive House (home to BrighamYoung). A short walk from Temple Square is the Gateway Mall area where you can visit the Clark Planetarium. (Overnight in Salt Lake City) 

DAY 5 Salt Lake City to West Yellowstone
Hop in your car and drive to West Yellowstone. The easy drive will take approximately 5 hours. (Overnight in West Yellowstone) 

DAY 6 Tour Yellowstone
Board your coach for a full day tour of the lower loop. Highlights of the tour include Old Faithful Geyser, the Old Faithful Inn, Isa Lake on the Continental Divide and more. Time provided for lunch on own at the Old Faithful Village.

DAY 7 West Yellowstone to Salt Lake City
Take a leisurely drive back to Salt Lake City. Drop your car off and proceed to Amtrak station and board the train in roomette accommodations, continue traveling to the West Coast. (Overnight on Train) 

DAY 8 Salt Lake City to San Francisco
The Amtrak train will take you as far as Emeryville, CA. From here, you will board a motorcoach for transfer to San Francisco. (Overnight in San Francisco) 

DAY 9 Explore San Francisco
Spend the day exploring San Francisco. Take a deluxe city tour to be sure you learn about all the fascinating areas San Francisco has to offer. Enjoy dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf at Neptune’s Palace. (Overnight in San Francisco) 

DAY 10 Vacation Ends in San Francisco
Bid farewell to San Francisco. At this point you will have the following options: 
• Return to Chicago on Amtrak 
• Extend another night in San Francisco with a day trip to Yosemite or Napa Valley 
• Rent a car and explore the Coast of California.

Seating Accommodations

The availability of these options varies depending on your route and the kind of train equipment in use.

Coach Class

Coach class seats are available on all Amtrak trains except Acela Express trains.

On most long-distance trains, we provide extra-spacious Coach Class seating with leg rests designed to enhance your comfort for long or overnight trips.
