DAYS 1-2                 YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS IN NEW YORK CITY

Welcome to New York City!  Enjoy a 2-day sightseeing tour of one of the world’s favorite cities on a hop-on / hop-off bus.  Move at your own pace and experience the sights of New York City including the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center. (Overnight in New York City)

 

DAY 3                 OVERNIGHT ABOARD AMTRAK®

Transfer on your own and board Amtrak to Chicago.  Kick back and relax as you head for the mighty Midwest to continue your Great American journey in your private Roomette sleeping accommodations. (Overnight on the train) B, D

 

DAYS 4-5                 CHICAGO

On Day 4, breeze into the Windy City and explore Chi-town with a trolley tour! After a day of exploring, enjoy your included dinner at a popular Chicago restaurant!  On Day 5, use your Chicago CityPASS to visit some of the most popular attractions in Chicago like the Shedd Aquarium, the Skydeck and The Field Museum. DAY 6                 OVERNIGHT ABOARD AMTRAK®

Transfer on your own and board Amtrak® to Denver.  Enjoy America’s majestic landscapes as you travel to Mile High City in your private Roomette sleeping accommodations.  (Overnight on the train) B, L, D

 

DAYS 7-8                 DENVER

Discover historical Denver and modern Denver in one trip.  On Day 7, your tour of Mile High City includes a visit to City Park, the State Capitol, the Denver Art Museum and more! On Day 8, spend your free day exploring the city and decide for yourself…what’s your favorite Denver hotspot? (Overnight in Denver)

 

DAYS 9-10                 DENVER TO SALT LAKE CITY

Transfer on your own and board Amtrak® to Salt Lake City.  Welcome to the Crossroads of the West. Be sure to get a good night’s rest as you have a guided tour to enjoy the next day.  On Day 10, you’ll take a guided tour of Salt Lake City that will introduce you to all the famous highlights of Utah’s capital. You’ll see Temple Square, Pioneer Village, the Temple Plaza Gardens and Fountains and much more! (Overnight in Salt Lake City)

 

DAY 11                 OVERNIGHT ABOARD AMTRAK®

Transfer on your own and board Amtrak® to Emeryville, CA.  Enjoy the panoramic views outside your window as you head for the West Coast in your private Roomette sleeping accommodations. (Overnight on the train) B, L

 

DAYS 12-13                 SAN FRANCISCO/NAPA VALLEY

Upon your arrival in Emeryville, board your included motorcoach for a short drive to San Francisco.   On Day 12, spend your free time getting to know the “City by the Bay”. Be sure to take your own pictures of the most photographed bridge in the world. On Day 13, take a tour of the country’s most famous wine growing region. Dinner in San Francisco’s waterfront is included. (Overnight in San Francisco) D

 

DAY 14                 YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN SAN FRANCISCO

Amtrak trains traveling on long-distance routes typically use either two-level Superliner or one-level Viewliner train car equipment, each of which include bedrooms arranged in various configurations and private and public bathrooms and showers.

Seating Accommodations

The availability of these options varies depending on your route and the kind of train equipment in use.

Coach Class

Coach class seats are available on all Amtrak trains except Acela Express trains.

On most long-distance trains, we provide extra-spacious Coach Class seating with leg rests designed to enhance your comfort for long or overnight trips.
