The Amtrak Vacations Escorted Rail Journeys are premium travel packages that people can share with like-minded travelers. The rail journeys are SMALL GROUP TOURS. Maximum capacity on any one-tour range from 22-28 travelers therefore allowing you to see more, do more, be more comfortable and enjoy more.  We utilize mini-coaches and not large motorcoaches for all tours.  Mini-coaches are easier and faster to get on and off, luggage comes off faster and most importantly, the smaller sized vehicles can go to more places, more conveniently. There is no better way to travel in national parks, than on mini-coaches.

SLEEPING ACCOMODATIONS aboard the train are always included in your package.  Even when traveling for just 8 hours aboard the train, we only book sleeping accommodations for travel.  This insures that when provided, all meals are included on board the train plus other privileges.

MEALS are provided in some of the finest establishments in each destination keeping the experience and value in mind.  We try to utilize restaurants that offer flexibility to eat off of the complete menu and NO dinner buffets.  In many places, we eat where the locals eat and that can be more enriching than a large restaurant in a "touristy" area.

OUR STAFF will take each individual's needs into consideration as their primary responsibility.  Our guides do not provide any of the tours in any of the destinations.  We hire local professional guides to do all the touring narration.

THE HOTELS we choose balance luxury with value and location.  In many national parks, there are no luxury accommodations, but we try to offer rooms with better views or lower floors for travelers whom would struggle with stairs and we always search out historical upscale properties that in many cases are an attraction themselves.

EXPERIENCE THE PARKS don't just drive through them.  If you love to take pictures and want a more enriching experience, our escorted journeys will accomplish this effortlessly.  For example: While many operators drive into Yellowstone, spend one night or just drive through with a stop at Old Faithful, we have 3 full days in the park so that we can go wildlife viewing, see all the falls and major geyser basins, do a stagecoach ride and best of all, you will do this inside a 13 passenger vintage yellow bus.  In Glacier, we see all quadrants of the park.  In the Grand Canyon Area, we will take you to Lake Powell and Sedona plus travel aboard The Grand Canyon Railway into the South Rim.
